Where is your Studio based?

My photography studio is based in Haverhill, Suffolk, right on the borders of Essex and Cambridgeshire. Just a 30-minute drive from Cambridge and Braintree, it’s the perfect location for families across Suffolk, Essex, and Cambridgeshire looking for newborn photography, maternity sessions, family portraits, cake smash photoshoots, and pet photography. Easily accessible with free parking directly outside, the studio offers a warm, relaxed ‘home-from-home’ experience for families travelling from surrounding areas.

Do you just do studio sessions?

No. While my studio is perfectly set up for newborns, cake smashes, and styled sessions, I also offer outdoor photography and am now introducing at-home & event sessions.

🌿 Outdoor Sessions – Ideal for family portraits, maternity shoots, or pets, outdoor photography captures a more natural, relaxed feel. We can make use of beautiful local spots around Haverhill, Cambridge, Braintree, Clare, Sudbury Saffron Walden, and Bury St Edmunds, or a location that’s special to your family.

Whether you choose the studio or outdoors, I’ll make sure your session is tailored to your family’s style and comfort.

How many pictures will we receive?

On average, you can expect anywhere from 20 to 60 images in your gallery (though my biggest to date has been 177!). The exact number depends on how the session flows.

Do you provide highlights the day or week after my session?

Yes! If you’re happy for me to share your images publicly, I’ll post a little sneak peek on my social media within a few days of your session. It’s a lovely way to get an early glimpse of your photos while I work on editing your full gallery.

Can siblings be included in the photoshoot?

Absolutely! All of my photography sessions can include siblings (and parents!) — whether it’s during a newborn shoot, a family session, or a fun cake smash celebration. Including brothers and sisters is a wonderful way to capture those special family bonds.

What should I wear for the family shots?

I recommend wearing light, neutral tones as they photograph beautifully. Shades like whites, creams, beiges, and soft browns always work really well and create a timeless, classic look.

Try to avoid bold logos or busy patterns, as these can be distracting in your photos. Coordinating outfits in similar tones (without being too “matchy”) helps create a soft, cohesive feel.

That said, the most important thing is that you feel comfortable and confident in what you’re wearing — your comfort always shines through in the photos.

I’m very shy and self-conscious — will that be a problem?

Not at all! So many of my clients tell me they feel the same way before their session. My studio is always a safe & relaxed, “home-from-home” space, and I’ll gently guide you throughout so you never feel awkward or unsure of what to do.

I’ll show you natural poses and little prompts that feel comfortable, not staged — and I’ll only ever capture you in the most flattering angles and light. My aim is for you to feel at ease, enjoy the experience, and walk away with images that make you think, “Wow, I actually love how I look!”

Many of my favourite photos are the candid moments — the little smiles, giggles, and snuggles — so even if you’re shy, I promise we’ll capture something beautiful together.

I’m worried that my dog or child won’t behave — what happens then?

Please don’t worry — this is one of the most common concerns I hear from parents and pet owners! I work with little ones (and furry friends!) all the time, and I expect them to be full of energy, curious, or even a little shy & unpredictable.

My sessions are designed to be relaxed and flexible, with plenty of time for breaks, cuddles, or a quick reset if needed. I’ll use gentle guidance, play, and patience to bring out natural expressions — whether that’s giggles, curiosity, or even the occasional serious face (which often makes for the cutest photos!).

I always allow extra time and have plenty of tricks to keep them engaged. And remember, sometimes the unscripted moments end up being the ones families treasure most.

🌿 If you’re especially worried about little ones (or pups!) sitting still in the studio, I also offer outdoor sessions. These are perfect for families and pets who love space to run around and feel more relaxed in a natural setting.

So no need to stress — let kids be kids and dogs be dogs, and I’ll take care of the rest. 💛

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! I offer flexible instalment plans to make your photography session more manageable. Payment plans can be arranged allowing you to spread the cost in a way that works best for you.

What if something happens in my pregnancy and I can no longer attend a session?

I completely understand that pregnancy doesn’t always go to plan, and sometimes health issues or complications mean you’re unable to attend your session. Please don’t worry — just let me know as soon as you can.

If you’ve booked a maternity session, we can look at rescheduling for when you’re feeling more comfortable, or transferring your booking towards a newborn or family session instead.

💛 Should you sadly experience the loss of your baby, please know that a full refund will be issued — no questions asked.

Your wellbeing (and your baby’s) will always come first, and I’ll do everything I can to support you with compassion and care.

What if my baby doesn’t arrive on their due date?

Firstly, don’t worry — very few babies actually arrive on their exact due date (unless it’s a planned C-section). Just let me know once your little one arrives, and we can schedule a time and date for your session to take place.

What Is Your Moments In Bloom Package?

Moments in Bloom is one of my most loved packages — chosen by over half of the families who visit my studio.

For just £185, you’ll enjoy 4 sessions combined into one package, giving you the flexibility to choose your photoshoots over two years. Perfect for capturing every stage of your little one’s journey.

✨ Family portraits can be included at any stage
✨ Flexibility to swap a milestone shoot for a cake smash, Christmas, or themed session at no extra cost
✨ Relaxed, no-pressure approach — only purchase images if you’d like to
✨ Gift vouchers available — a thoughtful present for new parents and grandparents

From newborn cuddles to first birthdays (and beyond), Moments in Bloom tells your baby’s story in a way you’ll treasure forever.

When is the best time to book my photography session?

📸 Newborn Photography – Newborn sessions are always best booked in advance, ideally while you’re still pregnant. Reserving your session before your due date allows me to block out time in my diary and guarantee availability around your baby’s arrival. I do sometimes have last-minute spaces, so if your baby has already arrived, please still get in touch as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

🎂 Cake Smash & Birthday Photoshoots – For first birthdays and themed cake smash sessions, it’s best to book 1-2 months in advance so we have time to plan your setup and order in any special props. However, I also keep a wide range of backdrops and props in stock, so I can often accommodate last-minute bookings too.

🤰 Maternity Photography – The ideal time to book your maternity session is between 28 and 35 weeks of pregnancy. This is when your bump is beautifully defined but you’ll still feel comfortable enough for posing and movement.

👨‍👩‍👧 Family Photography – Family sessions can be booked throughout the year, but weekends and school holidays fill up quickly, so it’s always best to secure your slot at least 3 months in advance. These sessions are a wonderful way to capture natural, relaxed portraits with parents, children, and even extended family members.

🐾 Pet Photography – Pet sessions are available year-round and are especially popular in spring and autumn. If you’d like your pets included in a family session or featured in their own photoshoot, it’s best to book early to make sure we can plan the perfect setup.

Booking in advance ensures you’ll have your preferred date secured for your newborn, maternity, family, or birthday session.

Do you offer backup of my images?

Yes, but only for a limited time unless you upgrade to lifetime access or it's included with your package. I hold all client galleries for 3 months after your session. After that point, images are removed from my camera SD cards and hard drives to make space for future sessions.

Your images are then archived on my online gallery system for a while longer, but I can’t guarantee indefinite storage. A retrieval fee applies if you need your gallery reactivated after the 3-month period.

For peace of mind, I always recommend downloading your images straight away and keeping at least two copies stored safely (for example, on your computer and an external hard drive or cloud service). This ensures your photos are protected for years to come.

What’s your approach to posed shots, and can we give you a shot list?

Absolutely! If you have certain shots in mind, please let me know before your session. This gives me time to prepare, gather any props if needed, and also advise you if a particular image may not be possible (for example, due to safety, lighting, or your little one's comfort).

My approach is a mix of posed and natural, lifestyle-style photography. I’ll always guide you into flattering poses, but I also love to capture those in-between, authentic moments that truly reflect your family’s personality.

Do I have to buy more photos or printed products?

No, there is never any obligation to purchase anything beyond the session you’ve booked.

After your session you’ll receive a beautifully edited online gallery to view in your own time, at home, with no added pressure. You’re free to choose only the images you truly love.

If you decide you’d like to upgrade your collection, order additional digital images, printed wall art, or a keepsake album, that’s entirely your choice and on your own terms. For clients who would like help designing wall art or albums, I also offer a free in-studio design appointment where I can guide you in creating something timeless for your home.

Is there parking at the studio?

Yes! I have a dedicated parking space directly outside the studio, free of charge, making it easy to unload little ones and belongings.

The only exception is on Saturdays, when the Haverhill market takes place and the space isn’t available. On these days, you can use one of the nearby pay-and-display car parks and take a short 2 minute walk to the studio.

What should I bring to my newborn photography session?

You really don’t need to bring much — my Haverhill, Suffolk studio is fully equipped to make your newborn session relaxed and stress-free.

✔ Props & Outfits Provided – I have a full range of professional props, wraps, and newborn outfits, so you don’t need to bring clothing or accessories unless you’d like to.

✔ Feeding Baby – If baby’s feed is due before you arrive, please go ahead and feed them so they’re content and sleepy after the car journey. If their feed isn’t due, don’t worry — you can feed them here if needed. If you’re bottle feeding, please bring a bottle and some milk with you just in case they need a little top-up during the session.

✔ Simple Outfit – Please bring baby in just a baby grow, ideally slightly oversized if possible, as this avoids leaving little marks on their skin and makes it easy to undress them without disturbing their sleep.

✔ Optional Pacifier – If your little one usually settles with a dummy, please bring it along. It’s not essential if they don’t normally take one, but it can sometimes help soothe them between poses. (I always gently remove them for photos)

✔ Comfort for Parents – The studio has a comfy sofa (many dads have even nodded off during sessions!), plus hot and cold drinks and light snacks to help you relax while I work with your little one.

My aim is for you to feel completely at home — you bring your baby, and I’ll take care of the rest. 💛

Can I bring my pet?

Yes — pets are part of the family, and they’re always welcome to join your session! Whether it’s a dog, cat, or another furry friend, they can be included in your photos to capture those extra-special family bonds.

Because I work with newborns and young children, the studio is always thoroughly cleaned and sanitised after any pet session, so you can feel confident it’s safe and hygienic for little ones.

I am breastfeeding — is that okay?

Absolutely! Whether you’re breastfeeding or bottle feeding, fed is best. Feeding can be done at any time during your newborn session, and you’re welcome to pause for as many breaks as your baby needs. Your baby sets the pace, and their comfort always comes first. 💛

What is the best age to photograph my newborn baby?

Newborn babies are best photographed between 4–21 days old. During this time, they are at their sleepiest and most flexible, which allows me to gently pose them in a variety of ways. This is the perfect stage to capture those beautifully curled-up, timeless images of your baby when they are still so tiny.

After around 3–4 weeks, babies tend to be more alert, less sleepy, and a little less flexible, which can make certain poses trickier — but not impossible. If you’ve missed that early window, please don’t worry! I can still capture gorgeous images of your baby, whether they’re peacefully snoozing or wide awake and full of character.

If you’re considering booking a newborn photography session, the best time to secure your date is before your baby arrives. This way, we can plan for that early window while keeping flexibility if your little one comes earlier or later than expected. Booking in advance also guarantees you a space in my diary, so you won’t risk missing out if I’m fully booked.
