Some of my favourite moments as a mum are when my boys climb onto my lap with an old photo album in hand - one that’s been passed down to me.

Their little fingers point to faces they don’t recognise.

"Who’s this, mummy?" they ask, eyes wide with curiosity.

“That’s your great grandma,” I tell them.

And just like that, the stories begin.

I tell them that she wasn’t born in the same country as they were - she was born in Holland and spoke a language called Dutch, which always fascinates them. They often ask me to speak it, and I have to admit that I can’t - though I really wish I could, just so I could share that part of her with them too. Their questions often lead to more stories, and I tell them how she lived through a war in Holland - something so far beyond their world or understanding at such a young age, but an important part of our family history that I want them to know.

I also share with them the loving memories I have growing up with my Gran - the weekends we spent together, taking the bus into Cambridge. We’d browse the shops, have lunch at McDonald’s, and always, always stop for sweets on the way home at the local corner shop. Those moments are etched in my heart, and it’s amazing how just a few photographs can bring it all rushing back.

Sometimes we laugh together when I tell them about the time I was around 3-4 years old and decided to wake my Gran up… with a soaking wet toilet brush. (Yes, really!) And of course, one of our boys once thought that was a brilliant idea and tried to do the same to their dad - luckily, I caught him just in time before chaos broke loose.

Then there are the quieter memories too - like the magical bedtime stories she’d make up on the spot, completely from her imagination. I can still remember them.

And all of this - these memories, this connection, this love - comes from a few old photographs. It’s amazing what just one image can unlock. That’s the power of photography.

A Legacy That Lasts

When I photograph a family, I’m not just thinking about today. I’m thinking about 20, 40, 60 years from now, when your children are grown, and your photos are hanging on their wall, or resting in a photo album being gently turned by small hands. I’m thinking about the stories that will come - about the “Who is this?” questions that spark laughter, tears, and a beautiful sense of belonging.

That’s what I want for you.

I want you to have photos that don’t just live on your phone - but ones you hold, frame, and pass down. Images that carry your love, your stories, and your family history.

More Than Just Pretty Pictures

What I do isn’t about perfection or stiff poses - it’s about connection. Emotion. Real-life moments that reflect who you are and the people you love. That's why I work with trusted, professional labs that specialise in lasting quality prints, wall art, and albums. These aren’t the kind of prints that fade or peel over time - they’re museum-grade, made to last for hundreds of years when properly stored. You won’t get that from low-priced high-street printers or cheap online bulk labs.

When you choose to print through me, you’re investing in something lasting. Something that your great-grandchildren might own one day as they learn about the life and love that came before them.

Your Story Deserves to Be Remembered

So if you’ve been thinking about booking a session - whether it’s for your newborn, your growing baby, or your family as you are right now - just know this:

You’re not just booking a photoshoot. You’re starting a story that your children (and theirs) will one day tell. And I would be truly honoured to help you tell it.
