On Saturday 27th September 2025, the local community gathered for a magical evening just outside of Haverhill as Glow Up Events hosted their spectacular Open Air Cinema at the Cricket Pavilion, Mill Green (CB21 4QZ). The featured film? None other than the family favourite The Greatest Showman – and it was truly unforgettable!


As a photographer, I had the privilege of capturing the evening in photos and videos, and I can honestly say I loved every minute. From circus acts to mouth-watering food, it was an event that brought together families from across Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, and Essex.


Cinema Under the Stars 🌙

With the backdrop of the Cambridgeshire countryside near Haverhill, families arrived armed with blankets, camping chairs, and big smiles. The outdoor cinema screen glowed against the sunset, creating the perfect atmosphere as The Greatest Showman began.

One of the best things? Children under 12 went free, making this a wonderfully affordable family evening.


Entertainment That Matched the Movie 🎪

Before the film even started, guests were treated to live circus acts and workshops run by Dreams and Wishes Events. Watching children learn circus tricks and join in the fun added a real Showman touch to the night. It felt more like a festival of family fun than just a movie screening, which made the whole experience even more memorable.


Delicious Food & Local Treats 🍔🍭🍦

Glow Up Events made sure no one went hungry, thanks to a fantastic line-up of local food and drink:

  • Burgers, hot dogs, and chilli jackets – perfect comfort food for an outdoor evening.
  • Sugar Rush Sweet Cones supplied mountains of popcorn and tubs of colourful pick ‘n’ mix.
  • Haverhill Ice Cream & Dessert Vans wowed everyone with their desserts, including doughnuts loaded with cream, Biscoff, and chocolate flakes.

The combination of sweet and savoury treats made the cinema experience even more enjoyable – and very Instagram-worthy!


A True Community Night ❤️

Events like this are what make our local area so special. Families and friends came from across Haverhill, Linton, Mill Green, Cambridge, Newmarket, and the Suffolk/Essex borders to enjoy an evening of togetherness. With extra touches like camping pitches available to book for overnight stays, discounted tickets on Eventbrite, and friendly staff on hand, Glow Up Events really thought of everything.

Final Thoughts

Capturing the smiles, laughter, and joy of the evening through my lens was such a privilege. From the circus acts to the indulgent treats and the iconic soundtrack of The Greatest Showman, this event was one to remember.
